This KB article aims to identify some of the most common issues surrounding Magento, its installation, running and optimization.

When using Magento Connect the built in update manager some fresh installs do not include the basic Magento packages so enter the following: magento-core/Mage_All_Latest into the extension keys field and click install to add the standard packages to Magento.
